YPAS Peer Researcher Visits Parliament for Young Future Hubs

I have really benefitted from this course. The whole family environment is much calmer and happier. Family have commented on how Layla has changed and that she seems happier and back to her old self. Molly G has been really supportive of our situation and made really helpful suggestions. it has made our whole parenting experience make so much more sense now. Now we understand the cause / reasons for her behaviour and how to manage / react to it. it has made our lives easier and happier. Our bond as a family has grown so much. Molly G has been invaluable to us over the past few months, and we really appreciate her support.

I felt very listened to in the sessions I attended Ceri the therapist I saw, gave me great advice I can use in everyday life, ways to solve issues These past months I have learn more about myself than I ever could've on my own in a very soft, supportive manner, thank you everyone at YPAS! Laura and Carolyn, I truly struggle to find the words to express my deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the nature program!  The transformation in my daughter has been nothing short of incredible. At the beginning of the first week, I was filled with nerves and anxiety about what to expect, but you both created such a welcoming environment that made it easy for me to open up. The other parents were wonderfully honest and open, and looked forward to each week. There were times when I arrived feeling overwhelmed and tearful, yet I always left feeling like a new person. Your support has lifted a weight off my shoulders. Trudy has gone from being destructive, angry, unsettled, and struggling with bullying at school to truly flourishing, and I can only say this has come from going to the program and Laura and Carolyn!  It had been over two years since Trudy had received any recognition at school, but now she’s received two certificates in just two weeks! That’s a huge accomplishment for Trudy! I underestimated the extent to which this program would make a difference, but the impact has been crystal clear! Our home life is much happier now, and I couldn't be more grateful. Of course, we still face challenging days ahead, but I feel more confident that navigating these tough times will be easier moving forward. I hope Laura and Carolyn realise just how special they are! Your positive influence has touched not just me and Trudy, but my entire family. You both truly are a credit to YPAS!

Keith has been really helpful; he has helped me reach my goals and get where i am. i feel like i can off load and get listened to. I came here because of my over thinking and anxiety and now because of the sessions. I really feel that i don’t suffer from thinking and anxiety as much anymore and overall, I feel happier. Keith has been so helpful and has really help me to become and happier person within myself.

Seedlings Anna and Emma are amazing they put children 1st and are always willing to support and help families. They build amazing relationships with children, my daughter feels comfortable with both Emma and Anna and was able to communicate her thoughts and feelings which is really difficult for Amelia to do. I have only had a positive experience working with seedlings.

I felt very well listened to and I always felt like I could come here after a bad day and just talk to Jade about my feelings and not feel like I was getting judged.

Lauren Marsh has provided counselling for my daughter. She started counselling and was unhappy with various things and needed an outside source of support. Lauren provided this service with sensitivity and care, which has helped my daughter come out of her shell and discuss the things that have been bothering her. Lauren has offered an insight on my daughters’ parents on certain concerns that have been raised, during the sessions. As a dad, I can see a huge difference in my daughter’s general mood. She seems to manage her emotions well and is more open about various things that are bothering her. I am so grateful for Lauren’s care and support. My daughter has been comfortable enough to open up. Lauren also raised concerns about progressing into grief counselling, which I felt was incredibly considerate, ensuring mu daughters mental wellbeing was catered for outside of counselling sessions.

The sessions with Caitlin in school helped me to have someone to talk to without judgement but an outsider observation.

Dear Meg and the team. I cannot express enough the gratitude, thanks and praise for your organisation. Meg: thank you for the time spent with my granddaughter and myself. Jodie was very nice and helpful when I didn't know what to do about my anxiety. I am finished now and feel confident to manage my anxiety myself and know a lot about it to help others, I feel a lot less anxious
