YPAS offers a range of wellbeing and therapeutic services for children aged 5-15 years, young people ages 16-25 years and their families in Merseyside. 

Established in 1966 YPAS is a charitable sector organisation that supports children, young people and families with their mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties. We deliver our services in primary schools, secondary schools and 3 community hubs across the city.

Student Placements at YPAS

YPAS works alongside and has strong relationships with universities and higher education institutes (HEI). At YPAS, we offer counselling placements for students undertaking counselling and psychotherapy training. We are committed to supporting our students in reaching their full potential.

  • 4 x Trainee Parenting Practitioners

Are you looking for an incredible opportunity to thrive in a dynamic and innovative work environment? Look no further! We are offering an exciting opportunity to train as a Parenting Practitioner, with paid, hands-on experience supporting parents and carers. This 12-month trainee post will equip you with the skills to deliver evidence-based parenting interventions, including group programmes and one-to-one coaching.

We are looking for accredited counsellors, social workers, mental health nurses, or occupational therapists looking to develop your skills and competencies in parenting interventions.

Applicants who do not hold one of these recognised core professions but have relevant experience working in a mental health service—particularly delivering therapeutic interventions—may be considered for eligibility via the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) framework, based on the standards developed by the BABCP. (KSA will need to be completed post successful interview)
