A Statement From our CEO

“Here at YPAS we are heartbroken by the news of Brianna Ghey a 16 year old trans young person who was murdered in Warrington on 11/02/23. We are unable to comment any further at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

YPAS has been supporting LGBTQ+ young people for over 40 years and it is important to highlight the fear this very community will be experiencing right now. I want to remind children, young people and families that if you are affected by this news and its causing impact on your mental health or wellbeing, feel reassured that YPAS is here to support you. You can access any of the 3 x YPAS community hubs 6 days a week: (Mon-Thurs: 9am-8pm), (Friday: 9am-6pm) and (Saturday 12-4pm – Central Hub).”

I worked with Emily. I enjoyed talking about what's going on in my life whilst it is being fun, it's never 'there's something wrong', it's always 'how do we help you' which I like. Emily is amazing, she's helped me so much and she's just a lovely person!!!

YPAS was the first organisation that took me in and also the quickest, Sonia helped me get through a very difficult stage in my life and has bettered me as a person. I feel better equipped to deal with situations in life and my mental health has improved overall because of it.

My son has loved coming to sessions each week with Lisa. He has calmed down a lot. This has been a fantastic service with people who genuinely care. Thank you, Lisa!

I felt progression and I found my strength and resilience through the sessions. I am proud of myself for staying strong and showing my commitment through the past months of my sessions. I also gained a handful of coping strategies and I maintained my balance by controlling my worries.
