Training for Professionals
Equipping you to support LGBTQ+ children and young people with confidence and competence.
At GYRO, we’ve been creating safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ young people since 1976, making us one of the oldest provisions of our kind in the country. Every week, we support LGBTQ+ young people aged 11 to 25 on a 1:1 basis, and through our award-winning youth groups.
Our training courses are built on this lived experience. We share the insights, challenges and best practices we’ve developed over nearly five decades of direct LGBTQ+ and trans+ specific youth work. Our programmes are designed for professionals in education, health, social care, and community organisations who want to make a difference to the lives of the young people they support.

Through discussion and real-life case scenarios, participants develop the skills to talk confidently about gender and sexuality whilst listening effectively and providing inclusive, person-centred support.
