What is Cathy Cresswell?
The Cathy Cresswell parent-led programme is a six-week programme for parents and carers of children and young people aged 5-12 years who are experiencing anxiety. It helps them to support their child’s fears and worries.
The programme focuses on upskilling parents to support their child with overcoming and managing anxiety by promoting strategies and tools that parents/carers can use at home with their child.
Throughout this group, participants are provided with an accompanying book to support this intervention and will be required to read through chapters outside of sessions each week.
Referral Criteria:
The Cathy Cresswell Programme is appropriate for parents and carers of children age 5-12 years. This support is offered in both group and one-to-one sessions.
Child is experiencing low level anxiety, including panic, social phobia, separation anxiety, generalised worry and specific fears.
Suitable for children and young people who are neurotypical and neurodiverse.
