YPAS offers a range of wellbeing and therapeutic services for children aged 5-15 years, young people ages 16-25 years and their families in Merseyside. 

Established in 1966 YPAS is a charitable sector organisation that supports children, young people and families with their mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties. We deliver our services in primary schools, secondary schools and 3 community hubs across the city.

Student Placements at YPAS

YPAS works alongside and has strong relationships with universities and higher education institutes (HEI). At YPAS, we offer counselling placements for students undertaking counselling and psychotherapy training. We are committed to supporting our students in reaching their full potential.

YPAS is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our team as a Trainee Children and Young People’s Specialist Clinical Practice National Autism Programme (LDA) Practitioner. This 12-month training post combines hands-on experience supporting children and young people with autism and or learning disabilities, alongside a fully funded Postgraduate Diploma and Weekly Clinical Supervision. This trainee role is ideal for someone passionate about working with neurodivergent children and young people.

4 x Trainee IPT-A Therapists (Interpersonal Therapy with Adolescents)

YPAS is offering an exciting opportunity to train as a Trainee Interpersonal Psychotherapy Practitioner for Adolescents (IPT-A) while working directly with young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. This is a 12-month paid training post that includes fully funded training leading to a postgraduate qualification in IPT-A. You will receive expert clinical supervision and clinical experience as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.
