THE Action Youth provides a safe space to express and explore yourself in an understanding and accepting environment. You will be surrounded by like-minded people who are willing to share their experiences and provide peer support.
‘THE’ stands for Trans* Health Education. This group is specifically focused on gender identity which enables young people to realise that they are not the only ones who feel this way. It can also provide you with specific and relevant information to meet your needs.
By The Way… is a website created by young people for young people who are trans* or questioning their gender where young people can take the first steps into exploring who they are.

At THE Action Youth we are connected by the sense that our gender identity does not match our biological sex - it does not matter what our sexuality is.
We have an experienced youth worker dedicated to providing information, advice and guidance for gender related issues.
Trans* is an umbrella term which reflects the inclusive nature of gender diversity beyond the male / female gender binary.
‘It feels better to be around people who understand how it feels to be different to everyone else. We can talk about more relevant things to trans* people. I find it helpful because people usually don’t understand.’
‘I like to come to THE Action Youth because it is nice to be surrounded by other like-minded people like myself. In Liverpool there is a very small number of trans* people, making THE Action Youth even more im-portant. We are creating awareness by edu-cating others and getting together as a mi-nority to help try and make a change. At THE Action Youth our voices are heard. I feel like there is a lack of representation for trans* people with only 8% of people know-ing a trans* person. THE Action Youth has a very comfortable and bright space which adds to the nice and calm atmosphere. I like seeing who comes to the group each week because it is also nice to see a new person as well as making new friends.’
